The course consists of 18 modules which cover a variety of topics, including, but not exclusive to:

  2. The role of the Diabetes Educator & Team management
  3. Definition, Classification, Risk factors, Diagnosis, Pathophysiology, and Presentation of diabetes
  4. Blood glucose lowering agents, Insulin therapy
  5. Self- management
  6. Short-term complications
  7. Long- term complications
  8. Diabetic foot disease
  9. Psychological and behavioral approaches.
  10. Diabetes in children & adolescents
  11. Gestational diabetes, pregnancy in pre-existing diabetes, DM in older adults
  12. Pre- operative management
  13. Sleep disorder, oral health, Sexual health, Complementary therapy
  14. Research as a core component of the role of a Diabetes Educator
  15. Seminars
